Until June 's self-titled debut record is still available on streaming services. The band released the record in 2006 on the Christian record label Flicker Records , then distributed by Sony Music . Six years later, the band released their follow-up, Young & Foolish on Madison Line Records . Then in 2014, the band ceased all activity, but never declared a break-up. Currently, Young & Foolish is unavailable on streaming services. IF YOU FALL FROM ME, WOULD YOU LOSE CONTROL?  "Summer Lover" certainly isn't the first song about wanting more than a summer fling. Songs about falling in love while on vacation as you slip away from the friends or family you are there with only to be excited by someone new and interesting and unavailable in your current life situation make us sweat those tepid summer evenings away. The speaker of the song wants more than just a vacation, there's also more to it. In this very short song, there's  a vague spiritual urgency fo

The falsetto sounds of vocalist  Josh Ballard 's voice may not be to everyone's liking. But back in 2007 when  Until June  released their debut album, singing high was the way to make it in the indie scene. Until June's self-titled debut is full of soaring melodies both on the guitar and in Ballard's vocals. The band's name makes me listen to them mostly in late spring to early fall. Though hailing from Arizona, this album makes me think of an early summer trips I took up to Michigan back in 2008. The cool and breezy guitars remind me of the cool nights when walking around the lakes and ponds in a northern early summer. SO I TRIED.   The last of my high school friends graduated high school in 2008, two years after I graduated. After the ceremony we met at the only coffee house in Mern. Sasha, who had just graduated, said, "I've got this wild idea. Let's drive all night and crash Shannon's graduation party tomorrow afternoon." Shannon and her fa

One trip was before I had listened to this album, back in 2008 and the other was after I had listened to this album in 2010. The cool and breezy guitars remind me of the cool nights when walking around the lates and ponds in a northern early summer. I KNOW IT FEELS LIKE SUMMER. I ended up driving over night from North Carolina to Michigan after my friend's graduation to crash another friend's graduation party. After getting practically drunk on espresso (5 shots, I think), I wa

Until June was a promising young emo-pop band by the time they released their debut album. The American band had a number one hit in Greece, and their songs were included on many television shows. Their melodic, often airy guitar and piano sounds blended nicely with lead singer Josh Ballard's falsetto vocals. While there were several artists that did falsetto on the radio during that time (i.e. Maroon 5 and James Blunt), Until June's music was more closely akin to fellow Indie Christian rockers like Deas Vail or Copeland and wasn't exactly mainstream for American pop at the time. Still, 2007's self-titled debut album was a like a glass of iced tea on an early summer evening. The band had potential. Their 2012 delayed follow up Young & Foolish was also a fine album, and I apologize that song isn't on Apple Music (I'll substitute for another song from their first album). Their Wikipedia page lacks citations and there is very little information about them aro
