I'm not sick now, but I thought it was a good time to make an Apple Music version of my Sick playlist for the days I don't want to do anything but stay in bed. Whether it's lovesick or sick-sick or just sick of your job, I hope that this playlist will give you the strength to get through whatever you need to do. Enjoy it with tea or chicken soup. Get a little extra rest and soon you'll be back on your feet! Until then just listen to music in bed.

"Photograph" Ed Sheeran, Saturday, February 3, 2024 (updated repost)

  Before " Shape of You ," Ed Sheeran was known primarily as a singer-songwriter. His albums + and X took clear influence from The Beatles , Carole King , Elton John , James Taylor , and the ballad writers of yesteryear. But he had a knack for throwing in a few rap bars along the way. With every record, Sheeran gained more acclaim. His sophomore record produced the mega Billboard #2 hit , " Thinking Out Loud ," which won two Grammys including Song of the Year. The final single from the album, " Photograph " was written in collaboration with Snow Patrol 's Johnny McDaid . Sheeran drew inspiration from his long distance relationship with singer/songwriter Nina Nesbitt (the featured musician on Kodaline ’s acoustic version of “Brand New Day” ). “The Man” by The Killers, Sunday, March 24, 2024 (repost)

n 2017, it had been five years since The Killers released new music, and even longer since they were a “household name.” Lead singer Brandon Flowers talks about starting with the song “ Rut ,” Wonderful, Wonderful ’s third track, which defined the band’s new direction. While The Killers had been on hiatus had released his second solo record, The Desired Effect . Also before recording The Killers’ fifth record, Flowers moved out of his beloved hometown of “ The Fabulous Las Vegas ” which turned out to be a bad place to raise a family in the ‘10s. Still, digging out of the musical rut wasn’t easy.
